Diana and Oleg didn’t want to wait until the summer to tie the knot so they opted to say I do in February instead. Despite the frigid Moscow weather, the couple’s winter wedding was anything, but cold and austere. Surrounded by their family and friends, the bride and groom made sure their special day was a cozy and intimate affair full of romantic and warm details – pomegranates, a rich wine color palette, and lush florals filled the ceremony and reception space at the Crowne Plaza Hotel – as they shared their love story and became husband and wife.
Special thanks to Janna at Warm Photo for sharing Diana and Oleg’s romantic wedding day with us!

Why did you have an intimate wedding?
We wanted to have a cheerful yet cozy wedding, and to celebrate our special day surrounded by our family and our closest friends. We dreamed about the perfect setting for the wedding, and it was important to us to have an authentic experience in a beautiful surrounding – we wanted elegance and warmth.
What are some the challenges that you faced planning an intimate wedding?
We decided that we did not want to wait until the summer to get married so the wedding was planned for February. Since it was the cold season with bad weather, we chose to hold our photo session in the studio.
Was it difficult to pare down the guest list?
No, it was not difficult for us to pare down the guest list.
Did you have any ‘issues’ with the small guest list from friends and family? If so, how did you address them?
No we did not.
What were the highlights of the ceremony?
Each couple wrote their story as a novel about love. This idea was the basis for our romantic wedding – love letters in French, old books, lots of candles and details all making for a warm and elegant celebration with our family. As a backdrop for the wedding ceremony the decorator used a letter about love in French.
What were the highlights of the reception?
The pomegranate was one of the main details in the decor, the design of the event, and the wedding stationery. The color palette was a saturated wine tone combined with silver, pale pink, and gray accents. The reception looked bright and gentle at the same time.
What was the best thing about having an intimate wedding?
Having a small wedding was stress-free and easy-going, and created an intimate ambiance that encompassed the warmth of the whole day.
