    Edwardian Elegance: Wedding Inspiration

Posted on June 26, 2014 by Giselle

The Edwardian era is synonymous with prosperity, conspicuous consumption and leisured elegance. Weddings at the beginning of the twentieth century featured many of the familiar traditions that are still upheld today. The cake, white dress, bridesmaids and bouquets were all commonplace and featured in the periodicals of the day. To capture this look we love lace details paired with a romantic peach, cream and green palette. This will definitely have your guests thinking that they are extras in Downton Abbey.

A candlelit reception with multiple courses of fine food and wine is as Edwardian as you can get. Plus, you don’t need to be the Lady of a stately home to recreate it. Floral centerpieces should be tall and abundant, with a blend of soft pastels to add some color to a darker room. Include some antique touches in your decor with cut glass vases and polished silver.

Posted on June 25, 2014 by Giselle

To add an extra detail into your decor you can turn the rather drab card box into something fabulous. It’s a great way to put your DIY skills to use and to brighten up a welcoming table. Here are 10 ideas for you to get creative with your card boxes.

    1. Basket

Card boxes don’t have to be complicated. In fact, a simple basket will do. Add a little chalkboard sign and you’re good to go!

    2. Mailbox

Search your local thrift store and flea markets for old mailboxes that can be used to collect your cards. When decorated with flowers and other details they can add a nostalgic touch.

Rebecca and Elijah’s Lake Como Villa Wedding

Posted on June 23, 2014 by Gaelan

Not only did today’s couple, Rebecca and Elijah, pick beautiful Lake Como, Italy for their destination wedding, but they also could not have chosen a more stunning ceremony venue – Villa Del Balbianello. Besides being a gorgeous venue, the villa also happens to be the location of Queen Amidala’s Lake house on Naboo in the movie Star Wars Episode II, and the site where Anakin Skywalker and Queen Amidala are wed in the film. Clearly, this couple wanted to make sure the force was with them on their wedding day!

Special thanks to Geoff and Lisa at The Goodness for sharing all the beautiful photos with us!

Real Weddings: Pauline and Michael’s Hawaiian Cliffside Elopement

Posted on June 20, 2014 by Gaelan

When it comes to the most romantic elopement destinations, Paris tends to get all the love. After viewing today’s wedding, however, we think Hawaii should top that list. Enticed by the intimacy and romance of eloping, Pauline and Michael flew to the Big Island where they exchanged their vows atop the cliffs of Waipi’o Valley overlooking the ocean. The dramatic Hawaiian landscape made for a stunning ceremony backdrop, and served as the perfect playground for the couple’s gorgeous photo session with Rebecca Arthurs!
