About Ebeniste
My name is Gill, and I love to make stuff. Especially out of wood. I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember, ever since the first LEGO set I received when I was just a boy.
I’ve been around for nearly three decades now, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up but I’m having lots of fun exploring the possibilities. So far I’ve studied electrical engineering, business, personal training, music, cabinetmaking, and furniture design, all while working jobs that ranged from warehouse worker to line cook to collections agent. It’s been a trip. When I’m not creating, plotting, or scheming, I love to cook, read, play music, and skydive.
Ébéniste is the French word for cabinetmaker, it originally referred to the elite cabinetmakers that were considered skilled enough to work with ebony. While I’m not really that pretentious, I do prefer the term to its English equivalent.
These days I like to spend my time designing and making furniture, jewelry, and small gift items that I’m happy to offer in my Etsy shop.
