Telling stories has always been a love of mine. It just took me a while to figure out the best way to tell them.
I got my start working at an ad agency. I dabbled in writing before moving into broadcast production, which proved to be a much better fit. Coordinating shoots is something I enjoyed early on. And what evolved from working around mounds of video footage, was love for the still frame. How something so simple can say so much.
I’m a sucker for emotion. I love capturing moments as they unfold. Being welcomed by families I just met and doing what I can to give them something that will forever remind them of that day. Especially those moments often missed during the hustle & bustle of the day.
I love to travel and I love shooting in a variety of destinations. It keeps me inspired and my work fresh.
I really love it when people forget there is a camera in the room.
Besides attending workshops and seminars, I snag every chance I can to work with other photographers. There is no better way to learn and grow than to just get out there and do it, working with people I admire the most. I’ve worked with a variety of photographers from commercial and portrait to newspaper and wedding photojournalists. All of these experiences have helped define me as a photographer today.
